Last week I had the opportunity to spend a couple of days in lovely Baton Rouge and work with the awesome folks at the River Center and the Shreveport Convention Center. In addition to some delicious chow, including the the Turtle Soup and Grilled Duck from Reputation Defender — highly recommended! — we also did some hands-on work with EventBooking.
With sales and booking staff gathered together, we covered a range of topics including:
- Automatic email alerts, which help to keep other departments informed about important events, such as confirmation of holds or event cancellations.
- The addition of an event checklist for both venues now allows them to see at-a-glance whether contracts, insurance certificates, and deposits were received.
- By utilizing journals (Call Reports) and activities of our CRM module, the sales teams are able to manage and track sales activities while sharing important information on key accounts.
- Introduction of the Sales, Resources, and Invoicing modules will now allow the River Center to manage corporate sponsorships, tracking and invoicing deals such as logo placement on signage.
While EventBooking has always offered unlimited online support and training, there is no substitute to interacting with our customers face-to-face, and we believe that this truly helps to maximize the use of our system. By observing a venue’s workflow and business processes firsthand, we can tailor training curriculum to focus on key areas and even perform account configuration changes on-site. At the same time, the experience is incredibly valuable for us, allowing us to better understand the challenges that venues face on a daily basis. This guides our development, helping us to continue evolving our product to better serve the industry.
One of our goals for the future is to host regular regional user-group meetings. More than just a training session, we hope to bring different venues together for open dialogue and exchange of ideas on maximizing productivity in booking, operations, and venue management. Perhaps we’ll see you soon!
