EventBooking is one of the highest-scoring businesses, with standout employee engagement
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE – May 16, 2019 – EventBooking, a venue management software company, has been named one of Inc. magazine’s Best Workplaces for 2019, the fourth annual ranking in the private company sector.
EventBooking will be listed among the final 346 “Best Workplaces” in the June 2019 issue of Inc. magazine, which were selected out of nearly 2,000 submissions. That list is also currently showcased as the main feature on the Inc.com homepage. The “Best Places to Work in 2019” list is the result of a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement of private American companies that have created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits.
Each nominated company took part in an anonymous employee survey on topics including trust, management effectiveness, perks, and confidence in the future. Inc. gathered, analyzed, and audited the data, then ranked all the employers using a composite score of survey results.
According to survey data, 100% of EventBooking employees consider themselves to be “highly engaged” with the company, and when prompted to describe the work environment in one word, the top adjective submitted was “fun.” Employees were also invited to provide optional comments, which were also anonymous. In one response, an employee shared:
“This is a company that runs on trust. Management trusts the employees will do their jobs to the best of their abilities and not try to find loopholes and excuses to not do their part. Everyone is a team player and we all work together for a common goal: to make the best event booking and venue management software out there—to enhance the lives of event staff, to host the best events for people like you and me.”
The strongest engagement scores came from companies that prioritize the most human elements of work. These companies are leading the way in employee recognition, performance management, and diversity. It’s a different playbook from a decade ago, when too many firms used the same template: free food, open work environments, and artifacts of “fun.”
While researching the finalists, Inc. saw distinct themes:
- 99 percent provide health insurance—and some cover the cost.
- 49 percent allow employees to bring pets to work.
- 65 percent take employees to offsite retreats to relax and recharge.
- 16 percent offer paid sabbaticals to reward length of service.
“With today’s tight labor market, building a great corporate culture is more important than ever,” says Inc. magazine editor in chief James Ledbetter. “The companies on Inc.’s Best Workplaces list are setting an example that the whole country can learn from.”
Founder and CEO of EventBooking, John Platillero, also commented: “We never really set out to be a ‘best workplace’—we’ve just had an understanding from the beginning that our team is our most valuable asset, and the factor that will most set us apart. If you’re going to spend a majority of your waking hours at work, why not try and make it a place where you would want to be, with people you would want to be with?”
