Another birthday, another chance to get to know our wonderful team members here at EventBooking! Our latest “Coffee & Conversation” features Rob Scott, Chief Technology Officer and do-it-yourself project wizard. He is the earliest employee to come on staff at EventBooking (circa 1998), and we are all the better for it—much better! Happy Birthday, Rob!

Q. What is your role at EventBooking and what do you like about that role?

A. Officially, my role is Chief Technology Officer. I love finding smart people, and then being able to collaborate with them to provide the tools and environment they need to do amazing work.

Q. Describe your “perfect” meal, complete with dessert.

A. Sushi. Chocolate mousse. Not sure I’d have them both in the same meal though.

Q. What’s something about you that might surprise people?

A. Earlier in my life I was painfully shy. When I went to meet my fiance’s parents for the first time, they pulled her aside later and asked, “Does he ever talk?”

Q. What is one of your favorite places that you’ve traveled to? Why?

A. The British Isles. I think my Scots-Irish heritage has a deep pull on me.

Q. What’s your favorite movie? Favorite book (or favorite Artist/Band)?

A. I have a lot of favorites, but “Raiders of the Lost Ark” is close to the top. My favorite book is The Lord of the Rings. Some of my favorite bands are Yes, Pink Floyd, and The Alan Parsons Project.

Q. If you could have dinner with one person (living or dead) who would it be?

A. Abraham Lincoln. He persevered and led our country through the worst time in its history, despite—or perhaps because of—his own personal struggles.

Q. What’s something you’re passionate about?

A. I am passionate about the idea that everyone has a purpose; everyone has something to share with the world that will make it a better place.

Q. If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?

A. Play the acoustic guitar like Phil Keaggy.

Q. Who inspires you?

A. My wife, who never gives up; and who always pushes me to be the best person I can.

A. What are your personal hobbies?

I love photography, art and do-it-yourself projects.
Thanks for all you do here at EventBooking, Rob! Wishing you the best birthday yet.
