A local celebrity and invaluable asset to EventBooking turned a year older today! This Coffee & Conversation gets us better acquainted with James Trimble—southern rock n’ roller and VP of Marketing and Product Strategy. Happy Birthday, James!
Q. Describe your “perfect” meal, complete with dessert.
A. My perfect meal is a big, juicy steak off the grill in my backyard. Complete with grilled corn and asparagus. Dessert needs to be Edy’s Mint Cookie Crunch. Trust me. It’s the best ice cream on the planet.
Q. What’s something about you that might surprise people?
A. I performed in a full-time touring southern-rock band called The Dirty Guv’nahs from 2006 – 2015. We were on the road about 150 days out of the year. Google us if you need proof. I love writing songs and connecting with people through music. I’m hoping that 2017 will be the year I get back into writing again.
Q. What is one of your favorite places that you’ve traveled to?
A. Kauai, Hawaii. I went there earlier this year with my wife and it was an absolute dream. We hiked 8 miles of the Na Pali Coast, and took a 60-minute doors-off helicopter tour. I’ve visited Oahu and Maui as well, but I fully intend to go back to Kauai one day. It’s the oldest of all the Hawaiian Islands and there’s a real untouched magic to it.
Q. What’s your favorite movie? Favorite album?
A. Favorite Movie: Good Will Hunting / A River Runs Through It
Favorite Album: The Rolling Stones – “Exile on Main Street”
Q. If you could have dinner with one person (living or dead) who would it be?
A. Bono. U2 has meant so many different things to so many different people. I’d love to hear him talk about what gives him the drive to keep writing and performing.
Q. What is a funny or interesting story that comes to mind from your time at EventBooking?
A. I actually met our founder, John Platillero, at a singer-songwriter night in 2014. He was there to hear his son perform. 18 months later, I was working at EB.
Q. What is your role at EventBooking and what do you like about that role?
A. VP Marketing and Product Strategy. My job is to make sure we’re building software that people want, and to help spread the word about our software through Sales and Marketing channels. I love being here at EB for 2 reasons.
1) I love our focus on SERVICE above all else.
2) This company is full of BRILLIANT people that stretch my brain on a daily basis.
Hope your Birthday is as incredible as you are, James! Thanks for all you do here at EventBooking.
