Happy Birthday to our very own, John Platillero! As the founder and CEO of Eventbooking, we are so appreciative of all he’s done for this company and who he is—not only as a leader, but also a friend. In a new blog series called “Coffee & Conversation,” we’ll be getting to know him, other EB staff, and the incredible people we serve on a more personal and fun basis. And there’s no better way to kick this series off than doing so in honor of John Platillero. In the brief Q & A we had with him, it’s easy to see why this man is worth celebrating:

Q. If you could have a meal with one person (living or dead) who would it be?

A. My grandfather. I’d love to show him this crazy new world. It would have to be a long dinner.

Q. What’s something about you that might surprise people?

A. I grew up in Alicante, Spain. Very few of my friends there even knew I was American!

Q. What is one of your favorite places that you’ve traveled to?

A. Anywhere I have been with my wife or kids… which is a lot of the US and some of Europe. Having them with me is what makes it great.

Q.What’s your favorite movie?

A. Fletch for comedy, The Rock for action.

Q. What is a funny or interesting story that comes to mind from your time at EventBooking?

A. Let’s just say I’m glad we are no longer worried about a dead-animal smell coming through the vents of the mobile home we used to work out of back in the day.

Q. What do you love about your role at EventBooking?

A. It’s all about the people for me. I love the people I work with, and the people we work for: our customers. I love knowing that we can make a positive difference in their lives by making their work day more simple and organized.

Happy Birthday, John! Thanks for leading us well and taking care of dead-animal smells. You are loved!
