A. I studied Indian and Chinese medicine for five years many years ago, and this will always be a passion of mine.
Q. What’s something you know more about than most people?
A. I love to learn and so have spent my life focussed on adult education. Rather than knowing a lot about one thing I just have a thirst to learn about lots of things 🙂
Q. What is one of your favorite places that you’ve traveled to? Why?
A. Of all the places in the world I’ve been, I have deep love for New Zealand—the land of the long white cloud. My heart sings every time the plane lands. The country is magnificent and we have dear friends there.
Q. What’s your favorite movie? Favorite book (or favorite Artist/Band)?
A. Movie: Like Water for Chocolate

Music Genre: Women in Jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Diane Krall)
Q. If you could have dinner with one person (living or dead) who would it be?
A. My Nanna. She was instrumental in raising myself and my cousins, and was an angel on earth. I miss her—she was a beautiful presence in every room, and I feel she still stands with me.
Q. What’s something you’re passionate about?
A. Being of service, volunteering, and mentoring.
Q. What’s something you would tell yourself 10 years ago?
A. Slow down and get grounded. Be present, consistent, graceful, and kind. Focus on being these values and the rest will fall into place.
Q. If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
A. To know everything about Venues and VenueOps 🙂
Q. What are your personal hobbies?
A. Yoga and meditation are the special gifts I give to myself everyday.
Q.Who inspires you?
A. My children. I have three kids and they are all kind, miraculous, and loving humans.
Melanie, it’s an absolute honor and joy to have you at EB!
