A very Happy Birthday to our very own, Mitzi Platillero! Mitzi is a cornerstone in the software engineering staff here at EventBooking. She excels at thinking logically while creating the backbone for our software. In this brief Q&A session, we get a little glimpse into Mitzi and what makes her tick:

A. Something healthy like grilled salmon, baked asparagus, and for dessert warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and melted warm fudge drizzled on top.

Q. What’s something about you that might surprise people?

A. I played keyboard and sang in a family music group when I was a kid (from age 7 until age 15)

Q. What is one of your favorite places that you’ve traveled to?

A. Australia

Q.What’s your favorite movie? Favorite book?

A. Movie: What about Bob; Book: Bible

Q. If you could have dinner with one person (living or dead) who would it be?

A. My husband John

Q. What is a funny or interesting story that comes to mind from your time at EventBooking?

A. We were on a busy 4-lane road at our former location.  There were skunks trying to cross the road (a mama and some babies). The babies were having a hard time climbing over the curb to get to the grass.   A lady saw them struggling from her car, and stopped to help them. She took a flat lawn chair out of her car and tried to help them over by sliding it under them and lifting them from the road to the curb.  It was working until the mama skunk came back and saw the lady near her baby skunks.  We stood watching and could sense the inevitable… The mama skunk sprayed the lady with a full mist. The lady took her chair away, put it in the car, started shaking her arms, got back in her car and drove away.

Q. What do you love about your role at EventBooking?

A. The people I work with are great.  I like writing software that helps people to accomplish their work.

Happy Birthday, Mitzi! Thanks for all you do for EventBooking and the people we serve!
