Press Release: EventBooking Concludes National Discussion Tour

By August 29, 2017 October 18th, 2018 Press Releases, Road to VenueConnect 2017

That’s a wrap! We are safely home from our whirlwind adventure: the Road to VenueConnect. Read the press release that sums it up and watch the final recap video of all three weeks of the journey!

KNOXVILLE, TN—August 29th, 2017—Staff members of EventBooking, a venue software company based in Knoxville, TN are home from a 6,578-mile road-trip that consisted of 18 visits to various venues across the country.

At each visit, founder & CEO John Platillero and two other EventBooking team members hosted a roundtable discussion about the evolution of technology within the events industry. Nearly 200 venue professionals from over 50 venues attended the discussion in a city near them, free of charge. Ticketmaster served as a partner on the journey and sent representatives to contribute to the roundtable discussions in multiple cities.

With an RV and many stops along the way, the tour began in Knoxville, then continued north to Michigan and west to California. After traversing the length of California, the team headed eastward to Tennessee.

“The purpose of this trip was to get out from behind our desks, put the phone down, and visit venues,” commented John Platillero, “We simply wanted to hear from venue professionals about how their jobs could be more seamless. What issues do people have day-to-day as they run their venue? What sort of advancements in venue technology could alleviate those?”

Charlie Lewis, one of the staff members who accompanied Platillero, stated, “What stands out most from our journey is the fact that there’s no substitute for engaging the people of this industry face-to-face. Our gears are turning here at EventBooking as a result of each discussion and we are excited to implement ideas for how we can make everyone’s day a little better and more simple.”

EventBooking serves over 700 venues worldwide with online booking and venue management software for arenas, stadiums, convention centers, and performing arts centers.

The workshop tour was dubbed The Road to VenueConnect, as the trip culminated at the annual IAVM VenueConnect conference—held this year in Nashville, TN. Equipped with comprehensive feedback from across the country, EventBooking presented their findings during a live IAVM podcast and a “VenueChat” session.
